WHO WE ARE

STRENGTH THROUGH FAITH COMMUNITY CENTER,INC

DBA “CONNECTING GENERATIONS

At STFCC, our programs are split into three different services:

· Youth Programs

· Senior Programs

· Intergenerational

Programs

At STFCC, we value our youth and their opinions. One of our goals will be to engage youth through a Youth Advisory Board where they will bring insightful perspective to the center. We believe the youth and seniors  should be responsible for advocating on behalf of their peers. We at STFCC believe that youth should take  great ownership in all dimensions of service learning, to identify issues and problems that need to be addressed and by studying the root cause and potential solutions. We have collaborated and are working with professional  and business partnerships to design and execute the solutions  and make discussions about changes to empower our youth and  seniors in the community as a whole.

STFCC offers a comprehensive recreational program for seniors. A wide variety of art, music, and club activities has been made available to our seniors 65 and older. Whether you play a game of dominoes or take a field trip with friends, the adult center program has something for everyone to enjoy.

Intergenerational programs:

These programs help participants recognize prejudices and attitudes that cause alienation, educate youths about aging issues as well as educate seniors about the challenges youths face today. Helping youths recognize their strengths and build on their weaknesses. We  engaged them in meaningful activities that are engaging to both generations. We encourage self-esteem by providing recognition of each participant's offering.

Objective:

To increase youth pro-social behavior by providing them with adult role models, and interactions enhancing stakes in conformity and altering peer relationships. Our seniors will benefit from developing caring relationships with youths. Our youths will benefit from receiving support in dealing with critical issues involving family, school and peer.
